I literally stumbled into yoga on the suggestion of my
roommate almost 20 years ago. My first experience was the 90 minute
Bikram series. Once I got over the initial shock to my system of
the intense heat and structure, I began to appreciate the physical
demands and the mental focus the practice required. After years of
competitive athletic my body needed something to help heal the
strained muscles and pumps and bruises, if I wanted to remain
active. I have used yoga to help me heal and recover from being
bulldozed in a hockey game, from car accidents, and from knee,
hernia and heart surgeries. I worked in the hospitality industry
for 30 years and yoga and my mat were and are places I come to
decompress and find place to my life.
I am a registered with Yoga Alliance and have certifications in
Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin. I have studied with Ali Valdez, Daniaelle
Zissou, Piper S, Les Levithal, Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruikshank,
Amy Ippoliti, as well as other local teachers.
I love teaching classes geared to the students needs that are
challenging yet accessible. I want students to find something in
every class they take out it, whether it be breathe the work, the
alignment, a new posture, an inner piece or just a smile.
