I started practicing yoga in 2013 during a particularly
stressful time in my life. Before I consistently got on
my mat, I was quick to react to (read: run from) most
uncomfortable sensations, which generally left me feeling tense and
even regretful. The movement and meditation allowed me to
practice experiencing those feelings on my mat, so I could try it
in my life as well. Of course, I still don't always approach
every situation with grace and compassion, and that's another
lesson I learned from yoga: practice makes practice, not perfect.
I pursued my teaching certification because I wanted to share
this quality of spaciousness with others. I completed my 200
hour training with the EmPower School of Yoga and my 300 hour
training with Baptiste Power Yoga Nashville. I’ve also participated
in several other professional development courses including many
studio workshops, CPR, and trauma training.
My classes blend dynamic movement and stretchy holds to create
a balance of energy and restoration. I hope to see you on your
mat!
