I had such a positive experience this week at Common Bond- the Wednesday morning class. I was welcomed verbally and introduced to the other students. Ben chatted with everyone in the beginning which was awesome and made it very clear that he pays attention to people and listens to what they have to say about their lives.
What I have NOT liked about studio yoga in my past experiences... I do not like it when the instructor talks too much, if that makes sense. Benjamin talked for sure but it wasn't distracting. I am not, personally, into too much spirituality being brought in to the practice. It just makes me feel a little uncomfortable because I am there to work. Benjamin did not make me feel that way at all. He was straight-forward, he did the practice right along with us.
The class itself was so great and exactly the kind of workouts I enjoy. There was cardio- HIIT-style, followed by some nice yoga poses and stretching. Easy-to-do moves so there was no wasted time trying to figure out how to do anything. My focus was on the work and on my body.
No distractions in the studio space either- not a bunch of things hanging up for sale (not in the work room anyways), I didn't get the feeling that I should whisper or not laugh (which I have felt before at other studios), the music was fun and not too loud.... I could go on and on, but I am hoping that my feels are coming through loud and clear.
Great place. Great vibe. Great dude. This was the perfect spot for me.
I will be back for sure!
