I just moved to the area and I was looking for a studio close to my house. I found TYC and they happen to have a class starting in 20 minutes so I signed up and went. Christi and Garnet were so friendly and inviting. Garnet's class is just what I was looking for today. I purchased a 5 class pass and I think this is my new Yoga home.
Alyssa received her Yoga Alliance RYT-500 certification from Western Yoga College under the direction of Scott Miller and is currently studying with the Shraddhaa School of Yoga. She initially discovered yoga through her lifelong love of ballet.
She began dancing at age 4 and progressed through intensive training programs to become a professional ballet dancer and later a teacher to students of all ages. Along the way she fell in love with yoga, which became a great form of cross-training and helped Alyssa to heal her mind and body and also develop her own sense of spirituality.
With over 20 years of working with and studying the body and how it works through both ballet and yoga, she has developed a fascination for helping the body to align and function in a healthy way and loves to incorporate that into her teaching. She has studied various forms of Hatha yoga including Ashtanga, Shraddhaa, Viniyoga, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga as well as meditation and Pilates and has enjoyed practicing with many different instructors all over the country. Alyssa now enjoys sharing her love of yoga with the community.
