I just moved to the area and I was looking for a studio close to my house. I found TYC and they happen to have a class starting in 20 minutes so I signed up and went. Christi and Garnet were so friendly and inviting. Garnet's class is just what I was looking for today. I purchased a 5 class pass and I think this is my new Yoga home.
Kellie Warren, born in Southern California, has had a circuitous route to becoming a yoga teacher. She met Ashley Fiala in 2003 while pregnant with her 2nd son. She loved the intensity, focus and balance she learned from Ashley's bi-weekly yoga classes. She practiced yoga, running and CrossFit to keep her sane while having 3 boys in 3 1/2 years. Her careers before yoga (and momhood) include police officer, sales representative and counselor. Yoga has kept her grounded, strong and calm -- well most of the time! She completed Yoga Alliance's accredited Sraddha School of Yoga in early 2020. She started teaching online to an eager group of friends, neighbors and family members. Kellie is now teaching at TYC on Wednesday at 2:00pm and loves meeting more wonderful TYC yogis.
Also in 2020, Kellie was certified as an Inner Voice Facilitator through The Lively Foundation. The classes taught Kellie how to tap into her intuition in a way that she never thought possible. She now leads one-on-one and group sessions for clients to speak directly to their own inner voice. She describes the process a bit like meditation but with a focused attention. Her inner voice pointed her toward “Intuitive Yoga.” Her classes start and end with a deep dive into our intuition through meditative practices.
What Kellie loves best about yoga is the balance it brings to the rest of her life. She feels calmer, more balanced and aligned. She cajoles her teenage boys to join her whenever she can. Her favorite asana poses are Bakasana, inversions and, of course, Savasana.
