I started practicing yoga in 2012. I practiced off and on for a
year, but always came back to my mat more inspired than my initial
visit. Yoga made me feel calm and comfortable in my own skin for
the first time in years. The practice energizes me and frees me
from feeling anxious or depressed. I love the creativity and
freedom of expression that the practice of yoga allows—it feels
like moving art. In the practice of yoga, we are fully immersed in
the present moment. Yama Yoga is where I completed my teacher
training through my mentor Summer Smith. Currently, I am
working on my Personal Trainer Certification. Pincha Mayurasana or
shoulder stand is my favorite pose!
