Fantastic.  Just the right mix of a lot of fun and a little bit of unpleasant!  There a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, but once it's go time it's all business - there's zero wasted time.  The instructors are really helpful, attentive and good at coaching form, and helping/allowing participants to modify intensity as they need.  An hour FLIES by and I walked out with a big grin on my face having had a great time.

I began attending Sarge's Boot Camp classes 5/week in August 2020. I go to class with a friend and while we show up, we also catch up with each other - talking and having a fun time! So I surprised even my own self when I had this positive running experience after attending Boot Camp for 3 months and shared with Tom:

This morning, I went for a run. It had been a really long time since I have gone out specifically to run; I usually walk, maybe jog a bit, but it has been a while.

The route was uphill, downhill, and in 26* temps and I could not even believe how easy it seemed to me. A steady 5k, non-stop and I think I could have continued on. I wasn't fast, but a consistent, easy pace.

I don’t know what kind of secret sauce you have cooking up inside of those endless burpees or crazy band exercises, but I surprised my own self with what I was capable of. I always knew cross and strength training were critical to developing as a runner, I don't know why I never invested the time in it when I was training for races.  

It almost makes me want to train for a Spring race - almost.

3 months ago I walked into the Sarge's studio and asked him if he could do anything with my physical condition.  He said to give him 6 months.  I am 3 months in and can tell you that I feel 100% better both mentally and physically.  It hasn't been easy but the Sarge has a way of pushing buttons that you didn't know you ever had.  He will challenge you to get the best out of yourself.  I highly recommend his program to anyone regardless of what kind of shape you are in.  Thank you Sarge!!  Bob B

Just wanted to say thanks for making it possible for people to start/keep working out, especially in these crazy times. I hadn't worked out in a year and a half. Hadn't lost baby weight, felt old, tired, soft, and sluggish. 3 months into this pandemic, I feel better than I have in ages. I especially appreciate the option to work out in my own home WITH you. I know I'm never going to be where I was physically when I was consistently working out 5 days a week, but at 41 years old, I've lost a few pounds to be at my lowest weight since 2 pregnancies ago, feel so much stronger and more clear-headed, able to keep up with my kids, and just happier with how I feel on a consistent basis. At this stage of my life, fitness isn't all about winning races, but feeling better in real life. Thank you for all you do to enable us to do what we do!

It is amazing to see you online and to see your growing family right there with you!  I love it when the adorable little girls get up into the camera and say "HI MR TOM" during the workout and it doesn't distract me in the least little bit (LOL).  Keep up the great work!  Miss having you at the studio but having you online is just as good (for now)!

I've been working out with Sarge and Tom since 2011, and that 9-year history is a testament to how much I enjoy and benefit from the program. Sarge Fitness provides a great variety of cardio, strength training, cross training, and full-body workouts that always keep me on my toes! To me, Sarge Fitness is more effective than other "box" workouts or "boutique gym" workouts because we work on every aspect of out fitness - it's not confined to just heavy lifting, or too much cardio, or small muscle movement. It's everything, and you never know what the day holds! Tom's response to the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of offering clients a great variety of at-home workouts and safe outdoor workouts is another reason why I will stick with Sarge! That and the friendships, camaraderie, and the great price I pay for unlimited workouts!

Moved to NoVA from Los Angeles a year ago and came across Sarge Bootcamp in the first week. This has been a great transition! The workout, energy and most important, the consistency of each class has been nothing short of excellent! Tom's personal feedback during training (and overall commentary) enables me to 'push' myself and meet my objectives (not to mention it's fun!). I have also met some quality people.

I've been attending Sarge Fitness Boot Camps for over 9 years! I call it my Sarge Family because everyone who attends is like family - you bond when sweating so hard!  Tom is an excellent trainer and there's never been 2 workouts the same - it's always different and always pushes you past what you would normally do on your own.  Tom's ability to adapt to the challenges brought on by Covid-19 were so impressive and I got to continue working  out online with him during quarantine! Go Sarge! It's the BEST!!

My running goal was to complete a half marathon in under 2 hours. I joined Sarge Fitness in January and hit my half marathon goal in April. Running aside I felt fit and good about myself from the strength training. I love the atmosphere and that Tom Kalka Jr is helping us to perform the exercise correctly to receive the most benefit. Having done many classes at various gyms and bootcamps in my time I have been the most successful with Sarge Fitness. Thank you for your dedication to fitness and to us

I truly enjoy the workouts at Sergeant's Fitness Concepts. You get results you can see when you stick with it. It's a non-judgmental group that encompasses every age and fitness level. The group is like a family, they are supportive, but will challenge you to do better and push your limits. Tom is a great instructor who can help you achieve your goals without being mean or pushy. He's serious and fun all at the same time. He does a great job teaching the classes, which are always different and challenging. Sergeant's Fitness Concepts is also a great price for the value of fitness you get. It's worth a try for anyone, you won't be disappointed.
