David A. Kosar has been teaching at Yoga in Daily Life in
Alexandria for nearly eight years. He is certified to teach Yoga in
Daily Life — the system, having passed the international YIDL
certification exam after completing the teacher training program in
2010. David began practicing as a student at Yoga in Daily Life in
2000.
David has taught the YIDL system for the past four years, with
three other teachers, to inmates at the Alexandria Detention
Center. He is also one of the many volunteers that help in the
Alexandria center's daily operations, as well as teaching
mini-workshops and giving talks about YIDL to various organizations
in Alexandria.
David is an independent government affairs consultant in the
pharmacy and health care areas. Prior to becoming a consultant, he
was the director of state legislative affairs for 17 years at the
national trade association representing the country's wholesale
pharmaceutical distributors. David is also a photographer and a
member/volunteer at the Art League of Alexandria and the Del Ray
Artisans, in Alexandria, where he also served for three years as
vice president to the Board of Directors. He is passionate about
yoga and says yoga is very influential not only in his daily life,
but also in his photography work, unlocking the creative
process.
