Suffering from lower back pain and joined the Yoga for a Healthy Back class. I was a bit nervous as my back isn’t exactly healthy! However the moves are gentle and I can see that when I improve there are more challenging positions available. No twinges and I look forward to coming back next week.
Evie is a passionate and charismatic yoga teacher. Initially interested in Mysore, Rocket and intensive vinyasa, she followed this up with Forrest Yoga training (loving the long holds, deep breathing and core work) and the graceful Tripsichore style.
In her practice and teaching she finds her own versions of restorative and yin, seeing these softer practices as an invaluable tool in calming the nervous system and releasing physical tension. Whilst practicing yoga can be really profound, Evie enjoys the play and physical challenge of the odd handstand or two and she encourages this sense of play in students (in the appropriate level of class) but only if that’s to their tastes, otherwise anyone is always more than welcome to have a lie down.
Evie take a real interest in students’ practices and one of the joys of teaching people of completely different ages, personalities and levels of experience is seeing them benefit physically and perhaps more interestingly, emotionally as she did and continues to do.
