Customer Spotlight: Prototype Sports Performance
Last Updated on 2 April, 2026
A Mississauga-based performance facility helping athletes and adults train with flexible semi-private and personal coaching.
1. Introducing Prototype Sports Performance
Led by Justin Vince, Prototype Sports Performance is a training facility in Mississauga, Ontario, focused on results-driven coaching for two core audiences. On one side is athlete development, delivered in semi-private small groups with flexible scheduling. On the other, is their adult wellness offering, which includes 1:1 personal training plus semi-private training, also built around flexible booking.
Clients purchase monthly options or session packages and then book into training times that fit their schedules, a model that requires both structure and flexibility behind the scenes. Prototype also offers physiotherapy.
2. Why They Chose WellnessLiving
Prototype is returning to WellnessLiving after trying other systems to support different parts of the business. As Justin explained, they previously used WellnessLiving, then moved to Jane “to run, like, kind of more of our physio clinic,” but found that “it’s just not a good solution when it comes to the gym side of things.”
They also trialed Kilo, and one pain point stood out immediately: migration reliability, especially around payments. Justin shared that when they switched to Kilo, “they had said they would be able to bring our payment data over, and then they weren’t. So then we had to go out and recollect everyone’s payment stuff, and that was kind of a hassle.”
Coming back to WellnessLiving was about getting a platform that better matches their training business model, without repeating those same operational headaches.
3. What They’re Building
With WellnessLiving, Prototype is setting up a streamlined system for classes, appointments, and flexible purchase options. Their immediate focus is getting the essentials live and usable for current clients, including:
- A clean staff structure for semi-private training sessions and 1:1 personal training appointments, tied to staff schedules.
- Flexible payments through packages and memberships, including personal training packages of 12 or 24, plus options for semi-private training clients who book around changing schedules.
- A simple onboarding flow with an overarching waiver that clients complete at registration.
- Client self-serve booking through the client portal, so members can book sessions on their own as long as they have valid packages or memberships.
4. What Success Looks Like
Success for the Prototype team means a stable foundation where clients can easily book training, purchase packages, or memberships without friction, and complete required waivers up front.
And while events are not a current offering, Justin noted there may be a future where they do, now that they can easily organize and market them through WellnessLiving. Want to follow along the Prototype journey? Check out their Instagram!
