Customer Spotlight: Gav Noble Physiotherapy

Physio-led Pilates that helps clients move better, stay pain-free, and keep the good habits going.
1. Introducing Gav Noble Physiotherapy
Based in Northern Ireland, Gav Noble Physiotherapy has grown from its early days running Pilates out of church halls into a thriving clinic with both physiotherapy and a dedicated Pilates studio under one roof. Gavin has been teaching Pilates for over 10 years and started the physiotherapy side of the business 9 years ago, building a model where Pilates supports long-term health, not just short-term relief.
Their Pilates offering includes group classes, online classes, and limited 1:1 or 1:2 sessions, with a core community largely in the 40–60 age range. What sets them apart is their clearly defined edge: “Our USP with the Pilates is… we’re physio-led Pilates.”
Many clients move from treatment into ongoing classes, so they can maintain progress after their pain settles. As Gavin put it, when pain goes away, people often stop doing what helped, and Pilates helps keep those good habits going.
2. Why They Chose WellnessLiving
Gavin and the team have lived through the trade-offs of multiple platforms. They previously used Mindbody, and when comparing experiences, they were candid about what worked and what didn’t across systems. Mindbody was “easier to use, and easier for clients to book in,” but when COVID hit, and classes were cut back, they moved away from it “purely on price” and transitioned to Acuity.
Over time, Acuity became more of a workaround than a solution. Gavin summed it up simply: “It’s just not great software. It just gives us more work to do.” The biggest friction points were client experience and payment flow. Clients found the process confusing, often booking without paying, leaving the team to chase payments afterward.
They also needed a clearer way for clients to understand what they’ve purchased. With their current class-pack structure with Acuity, “they never know how many they have left,” which created frustration for both clients and staff. WellnessLiving stood out as the next step up: a more polished booking and payments experience without returning to the pricing challenges that pushed them away from Mindbody.
3. What They’re Building
For now, the team is implementing WellnessLiving, with a focus on making the customer journey simpler and more self-serve. Their immediate priorities include:
- Migrating from Acuity with a data import that includes client data, existing packages, and stored card information for subscription-style payments. They also emphasized the importance of preserving remaining class counts when clients transition mid-pack.
- Creating a cleaner “buy then book” experience, “You buy your classes, then you book your sessions whenever you’re ready.” They plan to accept payments online and in person, and configure booking rules, including allowing clients to book only two weeks in advance, consistent with how they run their schedule today.
- Supporting both in-person and online classes, starting with a simple approach for virtual delivery using a static Zoom link.
Operationally, the platform also supports where the business is heading with staffing. Today, their Pilates classes are often led by physios, but they’re working toward a model with more freelance Pilates instructors, freeing physio time for higher-revenue clinical appointments.
4. What Success Looks Like
Gav Noble Physiotherapy is focused on growing their studio in a sustainable way: improving class utilization, smoothing out peaks and troughs in demand, and making better use of studio space.
Success with WellnessLiving is ultimately measured in client ease and reduced admin load: a booking and payment experience that feels straightforward, credits that are automatically tracked so clients always know what they have left, and a more professional end-to-end system that supports growth.
