Megan’s Mobile Swim School: Swim Lessons Across Tampa Bay
Last Updated on 21 July, 2026
How a certified Tampa Bay swim instructor scaled a mobile lesson business to 10 instructors and 300 lessons a week — and left Acuity and Square to do it.
Swimming Came to Her. Now She Brings It to You.
Megan Perry is a certified swim instructor who grew up learning to swim early. It opened up a world of opportunity — for fun, for fitness, for safety. She built a career around passing that on.
Megan’s Mobile Swim School brings that conviction directly to families across the Greater Tampa Bay area. No facility to drive to. No shared lane to wait for. Just a certified instructor at your pool, teaching your child to swim in the environment where they feel most comfortable.
“Our approach at Megan’s Mobile is all about creating a positive, supportive environment where kids feel comfortable in the water, no matter their age or skill level.”
That mission has grown into a serious operation. Megan now coordinates 10 instructors across multiple areas of Tampa Bay, targeting more than 300 lessons a week at peak volume. What started as a personal conviction became one of the Tampa Bay area’s most distinctive swim instruction businesses.
How Megan’s Mobile Works
The model is built for convenience at scale. Families create a profile, purchase a lesson pack, and book available instructors in their area. Megan controls the scheduling to account for drive time and neighborhood routing, keeping instructor routes as fluid as possible.
Three service types serve different family needs. Private lessons focus on individual skill development at the student’s own pace. Back-to-back lessons let families schedule siblings or multiple children in sequence at the same location. Group lessons bring a small number of students together at a shared pool.
Lesson packs are the core purchase unit. A 5-lesson pack starts at $250. A 10-lesson pack starts at $500. A 15-lesson pack starts at $750. All lessons take place at the client’s home pool or a nearby facility — no commute, no unfamiliar water, no lost lesson time to transitions.
Why Megan Left Acuity and Square for WellnessLiving
Megan’s Mobile had been running on Acuity and Square, but the day-to-day reality was largely manual. For two years, the team was doing most of the scheduling, communication, and client management by hand. As Sandro, who manages IT and operations for the business, put it: “For the past two years, we were doing mostly everything by hand.”
The client experience on the old platforms wasn’t working either. The portals felt clunky. Families struggled with basic tasks. “Their portal kind of sucked,” Sandro said. As the business grew toward 300 lessons a week, the gap between what the software could do and what the operation required became impossible to close manually.
WellnessLiving stood out for two reasons. The client experience looked genuinely better — cleaner, more intuitive, built for families managing their own bookings and paperwork. And it could handle the “weird situations” that come with a mobile, multi-instructor business: route-aware scheduling, instructor-level logins for cancellations and reschedules, mass texting for weather disruptions, and a booking flow that mapped to the business’s real logistics rather than forcing workarounds.
How WellnessLiving Fits a Mobile, Multi-Instructor Operation
Three capabilities map directly to how Megan’s Mobile runs.
- Self-service client accounts with area-based booking. Families create their own profiles, complete required paperwork, and purchase lesson packs. From there, they see available instructors in their geographic area. Megan retains control over route building and scheduling to keep instructor drives efficient.
- Instructor logins with scheduling autonomy. Each instructor can manage their own cancellations, reschedules, and availability without routing every change through Megan or Sandro. At 10 instructors and 300 lessons a week, that distributed responsibility is the only model that scales.
- Mass communication for weather and urgent changes. Tampa Bay weather does not follow a schedule. The mass texting capability lets Megan reach all active clients quickly for rain delays, hurricane advisories, or same-day disruptions — without sending 300 individual messages.
What Megan Is Building
Megan Perry built Megan’s Mobile Swim School around a belief that water safety is too important to be inconvenient. Every child who learns to swim confidently is safer. Every family that doesn’t have to drive across town for lessons is more likely to stay consistent.
The operation she has built reflects that belief at scale: 10 instructors, hundreds of families, lessons happening across Tampa Bay every day in pools where children feel at home.
For two years, she ran it largely by hand because the tools available couldn’t keep up. The right infrastructure changes that equation. Families self-manage their bookings. Instructors handle their own schedules. Megan focuses on the routes, the quality, and the growth.
The mission has not changed. The scale of what it can reach has.
