Customer Spotlight: Power Up Training and Coaching
Last Updated on 10 March, 2026
A personal training business built on trust, real relationships, and helping clients become confident enough to graduate from training.
1. Introducing Power Up Training and Coaching
Power Up Training and Coaching is Chelsea Powers’ new personal training business based in Mesa, Arizona. A bodybuilding competitor who’s always been into fitness, Chelsea has been training clients for years, including building a roster of over 50 personal training clients while working for a gym in the area.
Now, she’s taking a big step forward by running her own personal training company out of a unique gym arrangement in Mesa. The space operates separately from her business and simply requires that both Chelsea and her clients hold a gym membership. That setup gives her the freedom to focus on what matters most: coaching clients well and creating a genuine community experience.
2. Why She Chose WellnessLiving
As she launches her business, Chelsea is implementing business software for the first time. “This’ll be my first time,” she shared, after previously managing everything in a very informal way: “I used to just use text messages.”
Chelsea’s priority with WellnessLiving is moving from manual coordination to a professional system that supports her style of coaching. She wants to stay super trustworthy and “not very salesy,” adding, “I’m in this because I want to help people, not so much for the money at all.” Rather than stitching together tools, she wanted one place where clients can book, pay, and stay organized, while keeping the experience simple for both her and her clients.
While some businesses come to WellnessLiving after comparing platforms like Mindbody, Chelsea’s focus was on choosing her first all-in-one system to formalize scheduling and payments as she transitions into full business ownership.
3. What They’re Building
Chelsea is building an appointment-based business, primarily for 1-on-1 training, with small group sessions that “kind of just come up organically.” During onboarding, she began setting up her services in WellnessLiving so clients can self-book and pay online.
Her initial service setup includes a 30-minute session priced at $35, with the flexibility to support both drop-in bookings and package-based training. Chelsea also offers free consultations, and plans to reflect that in her booking flow as her setup progresses.
On the operations side, Chelsea is working toward a cleaner, more consistent client experience, including:
- Online booking with clear availability based on her working hours
- Business policies and cancellation rules that match how she wants to run her schedule
- An online waiver so every client signs before booking or buying
- Integrated payment processing through WellnessLiving
- two-way texting and SMS notifications
- website integration using direct booking links and widgets
4. What Success Looks Like
For Chelsea, success is about making the transition from being underpaid as an employee trainer to running a sustainable business with her own pricing and process. As she put it, with her own rates she’d be making “at least triple,” while still keeping training accessible for clients.
Long-term, Chelsea plans to start solo and grow into a team. “I’m gonna be working by myself until I get the ball rolling enough,” she explained, with the expectation that she’ll eventually bring on other trainers once the business hits the right volume.
Most importantly, Chelsea defines success through client outcomes and real relationships. She wants clients to feel empowered, even if it means moving on: “I want you to leave me eventually. I don’t think you should stay with me forever.” With WellnessLiving handling the logistics behind the scenes, Chelsea is creating the space to focus on coaching, community, and building a training business that’s rooted in trust.
