What is Glofox?
Glofox is a business management software for gym and fitness studio owners. They offer tools for marketing, engagement, member experience, personalized training, and more. Through the Glofox app, they also help clients drive and manage bookings.
Glofox’s website advertises their revenue-generating capabilities too. Their homepage advertises the software’s potential to grow revenue by 89% or more.
But here’s the deal – while Glofox offers a ton of cool features, some customers have had their share of challenges. Technical hiccups and less-than-stellar customer service have cropped up as the main issues. Check out these reviews to get the full picture.
Glofox Reviews: Users Have Trouble Booking Classes
Glofox prides itself on user friendliness and seamless booking. However, members often have trouble booking classes through Glofox.
One customer noted they were “randomly not able to book members into classes.” Another said, “memberships can’t be added. People can’t book into classes.” They also wonder how much potential business they’ve lost because of these glitches.
A yoga studio owner with more than 1,000 clients had similar problems. “Every single day at least 10 of them (the ones that haven’t given up trying) tell me they couldn’t book a class, couldn’t apply their membership to a class, etc. Quite annoying.”
Some business owners also cite issues with Glofox’s Stripe integration. Glofox responded to some of these concerns, suggesting that implementation issues may be the root cause of booking problems. This suggests a challenging onboarding process or insufficient customer support during onboarding.
Lack of Customer Service and Support
As a business owner, onboarding support is essential. Your customer support team should also be available to answer questions on an ongoing basis.
Unfortunately, customers have to contact Glofox customer service repeatedly for a response. One user said, “when I do leave messages or send emails, I rarely hear back unless I harass over and over and over again.”
One user described receiving generic “mostly automated” answers. Another said, “customer service is awful. I was told “‘I don’t know, here’s a YouTube video.’”
Support is critical to a positive user experience. Going by the reviews, users didn’t receive much. “The customer service stopped as soon as the sign-up process was over… it was impossible to get help if I needed it.” Customer service only responded once this customer asked to cancel their account. “They hassled me to not cancel, acting as if they cared about my business all of a sudden.”
Another user had a similar story. “Once I signed on with the product everything changed… support does not respond… I then need to take extra time to do things manually.”
Another reviewer called it a support loop. “Different support staff always work to solve your problem. You’re talking with so many support staff about the same thing. It becomes a game of telephone.”
Glofox didn’t offer support for urgent issues either. One Glofox online client’s members were being double credited classes. “It has now been over three weeks since I reported this issue and it’s happened again this month.” Glofox said it was an issue with their studio alone. “I was told… that the engineers haven’t looked at it yet. They couldn’t give me any timeline.”
Lack of support costs customers time and money. Left to their own devices, customers wasted time doing manual work the software was meant to help with.
Glofox Canceling Memberships: Some Users Reported Losing Members After Using Glofox
If the software you choose isn’t the right fit, you deserve a simple cancelation process. Unfortunately, the process was tedious and costly for some Glofox online clients.
After canceling their service, one customer was charged $1,300 on a credit card Glofox had on file but wasn’t authorized to charge. They called Glofox 10 times before getting an answer – an email from a manager refusing to refund them.
Another former user said, “after our migration they continued to bill us, when we asked for a refund, they said they would only refund half, and they still have not even done that.”
One customer had an even more concerning experience. They said Glofox “deactivated my entire business by accident, deleting all of my memberships and billing cycles.” Glofox’s only solution was to reopen the account. The lost members weren’t restored. They also didn’t compensate the business for lost revenue or offer additional support.
Glofox Presents an Uncomfortable User Experience
Glofox online clients say their members also have user experience trouble with the app. It can be slow, send an annoying amount of notifications, and cause waitlist issues.
One owner said it has “so many notifications, pop ups, audio, and an email for every booking. It’s slow and at times doesn’t correctly show if you’re waitlisted.”
The app experience can even damage a business’ reputation. One studio owner noticed that “Glofox double-charged multiple students with no evidence on our end.” Their students showed them bank statements with double charges they couldn’t see through the software on their end.
