Pilates Studio Gets ‘Reformed’ with WellnessLiving Software
Last Updated on 18 March, 2026
Discover our customers’ post-pandemic ‘software switch’ on our latest CEO TOUR!
For WellnessLiving’s CEO and Co-Founder Len Fridman, meeting with our customers on his famed CEO Tour is truly a passion project. Throughout the pandemic, Len has continued to connect with customers virtually, discovering all the resilient ways they were able to pivot their businesses and emerge stronger than ever.
On this latest leg of the tour, Len visits Emily Hollon of Core Collective to discover all the reasons why she switched from Mindbody to WellnessLiving. Let’s get started…
Here are three short, simple takeaways from the article:
- Core Collective switched from Mindbody due to frustration with its interface and complicated reporting.
- Features like task management, reporting, and a built-in rewards program helped streamline operations and improve client engagement.
- Strong customer support and easy-to-use tools helped the business grow and run more efficiently.
Meet Emily Hollon, owner and instructor of Core Collective
After years of doing high-intensity impact training like marathon running and HIIT, Emily Hollon found herself constantly injured and inflexible. Within a month of trying Pilates’ reformer workouts, Emily had more core strength, more flexibility, and better posture than she’s ever had in her life, and was instantly hooked!
“Within a month, everything felt better,” says Emily. “I had never noticed as fast of a change within my body since starting Pilates.” With her newfound passion, she opened Core Collective, bringing its benefits to the Ann Arbor, Michigan, community.

Core Collective Pilates focuses on group and individual reformer classes to build strength, cardio, and flexibility. Classes include:
- Reformer Stretch
- Reformer Jump Board
- Reformer Classic
- Reformer Flow
“The reformer is pretty versatile; you have added resistance compared to mat classes. I prefer the reformer because it’s a lot more dynamic. For beginners, it’s nice because you can add stability where it’s needed, and for more advanced people, you can add that resistance,” says Emily.
Dismantling the myth of Pilates—a workout for everyone.
Created by Joseph Pilates, this flexible workout is known to give practitioners long and lean muscles and improve posture and flexibility. What was once thought to be a mainstay for dancers only is now a workout for all—beginners to top athletes. Pilates has something for everyone!
“We have a ton of athletes that come through Core Collective,” says Emily. “From hockey to football players—both pro and college level, dancers, figure skaters, and even Olympians!”
Len Fridman adds, “Pilates is a great workout because it strengthens those connective tissues and muscles you don’t typically use. Once you strengthen those connective tissues, the likelihood of getting injured from sport would be greatly decreased, I would think!”
Pandemic resilience and reopening the studio
When the pandemic hit, Emily integrated some online virtual classes into her schedule, but she was counting down the days until she could reopen for in-person reformer classes. While she saw the value of trying online classes, she wasn’t about to be the next Peloton, and knew that the very future of her business hinged on reopening.
At the same time, Emily was looking to change her business software provider, Mindbody, as she was frustrated with their UI and complicated reporting.
“From the second I saw the interface; I fell in love with WellnessLiving,” says Emily who officially became part of the WellnessLiving family in April of 2021.
