Customer Spotlight: DanceSport Studio
Last Updated on 14 April, 2026
A dance community built on discipline, confidence, and growth, now ready to scale with a streamlined, all-in-one system.
1. Introducing DanceSport Studio
Founded in 2017, DanceSport Studio is a ballroom dance studio that offers private lessons, weekly group classes, and special events like seminars and multi-hour Saturday training camps.
Two years ago, owner Michelle Blank expanded into a larger facility, and the studio now supports a thriving community of roughly 65–70 children and about 20 adult clients who take weekly private lessons. They also welcome short-term clients with specific goals, including wedding dance lessons.
Beyond technique, DanceSport Studio’s mission is rooted in developing students through structure and coaching. As their onboarding specialist put it after reviewing the website, the studio’s approach is about “discipline… really shaping people,” not just training.
2. Why They Chose WellnessLiving
DanceSport Studio wasn’t switching from a single competitor like Mindbody. Instead, they were managing growth across multiple disconnected tools, using Google Calendar for scheduling and QuickBooks for invoicing, which Michelle described as “very manual and time-consuming.”
After moving into a bigger space and seeing an influx of clients, the manual approach became harder to sustain. Michelle’s priority was clear: “We’re just really trying to save time and consolidate everything in one application with scheduling, attendance tracking, and payments.”
WellnessLiving stood out because it can bring those moving parts together while still accommodating the studio’s real-world nuances, from class bundles to client accounts, staff management, and a branded app experience.
3. What They’re Building
With WellnessLiving, Michelle is setting up DanceSport Studio to run on one connected platform, starting with the essentials and expanding into more advanced offerings over time.
A key focus is giving clients and parents more visibility and accountability through self-serve accounts. Right now, clients can’t see what they’ve booked or what they’ve used, which leads to manual follow-up. Michelle shared that if a student attends an extra class, “we have to physically go in and tell them.”
The Benefits of WellnessLiving
With WellnessLiving, families can clearly see scheduled lessons, remaining class packs, and membership usage, helping prevent overages and reducing front-desk back-and-forth.
They’re also planning to tighten up payment tracking. Since some clients currently pay later in the week, Michelle noted, “it’s hard to catch sometimes if we have missed payments” unless they dig through QuickBooks. Moving forward, she’d “rather them pay right away,” and WellnessLiving’s integrated checkout, purchase requirements, and reporting will help the studio stay on top of revenue.
Operationally, the build includes: migrating an existing client list (including remaining session balances), converting their in-person paperwork into digital registration forms and waivers, configuring policies (with an eye toward adding cancellation or no-show fees), and launching a branded Achieve app so clients can book, manage purchases, and receive updates via push notifications and SMS.
DanceSport Studio also has unique scheduling needs, including renting out four studio halls for recurring weekly blocks and occasional parties, plus private lessons that sometimes involve partnered students, where the cost needs to be split. The team is planning workable structures inside WellnessLiving so these scenarios can be tracked cleanly.
Finally, the studio is exploring ways to unify retail sales again. They previously used Shopify but stepped away because it was “a lot just to handle.” With WellnessLiving’s store tools, their clients, especially parents who don’t always come inside, can still see what’s available and purchase ahead of pickup.
4. What Success Looks Like
In the near term, Michelle’s definition of success starts with speed and simplicity. The studio wants to replace the patchwork of calendars, invoices, and paper forms with one organized system that can support their growing client base.
Over the next several months, success looks like fewer manual tasks, more reliable payment capture, clearer attendance and pack tracking, and a smoother experience for parents managing children’s schedules. And as DanceSport Studio continues to develop its youth curriculum, Michelle also sees long-term potential in offering pre-recorded virtual training content:
“If we can have pre-recorded material for them, and parents want to pay more for them to learn at home, that would be a game changer.”
