1. Introducing Empact Racquet Sport Coaching & Community
Led by Jessica Bottesch and owner Taylor Hoop, Empact Racquet Sport Coaching & Community has been serving athletes since 2016. Based in the southeast United States, the team delivers tennis and pickleball coaching through a flexible, community-centred model that meets clients where they play.
Instead of operating out of a single dedicated facility, Empact rents court space at multiple public courts, which gives them the ability to reach more players, while also creating a real need for crystal-clear scheduling, policies, and client communication.
Their programming spans adult and youth clinics (class-style groups), private and semi-private lessons (appointments and small groups), camps (run as events), and even racket stringing.
2. Why They Chose WellnessLiving
Empact is migrating from Mindbody, where they’ve been operating since 2016. As their business has evolved, they’ve been looking for a platform that supports a cleaner client experience, faster operations, and fewer manual workarounds.
A big theme throughout onboarding was speed and momentum: “The sooner the better,” Jessica emphasized. WellnessLiving supports what Empact wants next: a system clients can actually use on their own.
As Jessica put it, “clients don’t want to take an online software training, they just want to take a tennis lesson.”

3. What They’re Building
Empact is using WellnessLiving to centralize the operational pieces that were previously split between tools and manual processes, including moving key forms out of Google. They plan to bring their waiver and intake experience into WellnessLiving to streamline things with a particular focus on remote e-signatures.
Their waiver is more than liability coverage. It also sets expectations and enforces policies, including their 24-hour cancellation policy. Having clients sign this up front prevents confusion later. If someone disputes a cancellation, Empact can point back to what the client agreed to.
On the scheduling side, they’re building out a structure that matches their real-world offerings while translating their internal language (like “clinics”) into a platform-friendly setup. Jessica was clear that once the foundation is built, they want the freedom to evolve it: “It’s not a set it and forget it, it’s a living thing.”
They’re also preparing for a few important upgrades at launch:
- Client self-service via web and app, so clients can create profiles, buy packages, and book sessions themselves.
- Attendance visibility for classes and clinics, so staff can simply check clients in and move on.
- Email communication inside WellnessLiving (including templated messages like weather closures), plus transactional SMS for bookings and cancellations.
- Google Business integration, so booking can connect with how new clients discover them online.
- New revenue tools, including fresh gift cards and a shift from packs-only toward at least one monthly membership option.
Alongside the software transition, Empact is also planning a small price increase, intentionally building WellnessLiving with their updated pricing from day one.
4. What Success Looks Like
For Empact, success starts with a smooth, confident transition off Mindbody and into a system their team can run without heavy admin lift. With around 243 active clients, the immediate win is getting everyone migrated, informed, and booking through a simpler flow, while keeping operations consistent.
